First a stop at an Indian restaurant for a fabulous meal.
Ice cold water was served in beautiful hammered copper cups.
We had the most delicious mango milkshake with dinner.
After dinner back to the truck and the drive to Devon. At the Devonian Botanic Gardens we were greeted with thousands of luminarias leading the way to the Japanese Garden.
Lanterns and luminarias adorned the trees.
During the summer a large pond and bridge are the focal point of the garden. Seeing this in the winter I sure want to make a trip back in the summer.
Ice sculptures along the paths were plentiful.
Looking back at the end of the trail through the five acres, it was a beautiful sight to see and certainly worth the frozen fingers and camera.

What incredible images! I love how they look on your black background. It looks like you had a wonderful evening.
It may have been cold, but it sure was worth the hardship!! These images are beautiful! The image of the pond and bridge is perfect! It would make a wonderful Christmas card!
Susan - What beautiful photographs. Your nighttime adventure was amazing. Those little hammered cups, LOVE! I think well worth a bit of cold to have this experience.
Oh, these are gorgeous! I wish I could have joined you. (It's about -25C here right now, so -17 would be a nice warm break for me!)My favourite is the fourth one from the end, with all the paper lanterns in the trees. Fabulous!
Oh this is just stunning. Wish I had know someone was going too. I may have tried to brave the long drive . Loved this so much.
what an amazing place and your photos are stunning! This event must take a whole lot of organizing-impressive.
I like how your photos start out warm and glowing and end up so fresh and chilly! This is truly a magical place and well worth braving the cold - I think when I've got my camera in my hand I don't always notice the temperature. Thanks for linking to my blog - I'm really behind this week.
