It's now two weeks into the two courses I signed up for, Kim Klassen's Be Still and The Studio. Only two weeks in and I'm behind. If I worked 40 - 50 hours a week with 10 hours of commuting, I could really understand, but I work part-time from home. Oh well, there's always next week to catch up.
While trying to do my assignments, which of course nothing is quite right, I found this week that I have rediscovered my love for my camera. I love to take photos and I'm working on getting to like the processing. I have also found my lost love for taking photos of food. This of course means I must cook more, which I am sure is why I'm behind on my classes.
I've taken to making a lot of soups this winter (and the bread to go with it) and I've never had Italian Wedding Soup. I've always assumed that this was a special soup served at weddings, but apparently not so, it's a reference of the marriage of green vegetables and meat. Who knew.
Wednesday's soup was so good we decided on soup again on Thursday. While chopping the vegetables for a cabbage soup and putting them into little piles, this photo came to be.
Not ready to put down the camera quite yet
I'm luck to live with a patient man, as he has come to learn that dinner isn't served until the photos are finished.
Thank you for visiting. Sharing with Friday Finds.

I'm a big soup lover and we try to have soup at least twice a week. Lately, though, I've fallen in love with pureed, thicker, creamier soups. Latest favorite --watercress + onions + chicken, with a little bit of butter to 'cook' the chicken before pureeing, and then chucked into a pot and brought to a boil.
My goodness, what delicious looking soups. You've certainly nailed food photography. Those are a set of stellar shots. I can totally understand why you're running late with the assignments if you're busy making all these wonderful dishes AND the bread to mop them up. Add in a part-time job and you're one busy lady! Have a super weekend, Bonny
Yummy looking soups..I am also in love with the thicker soups/stews..
The payoff for your hub's patience is superb food and a happy cook, lol..
I don't work at all and I was always behind :) I love Italian Wedding Soup, yours looks delicious.
I wish I could chop as well as you chop!
Everything looks delicious! I am slowly getting behind in the classes too. I do what I can, when I can. Have a great weekend!
This looks really good and I am glad that I have our dinner in the crockpot and it doesn't take too much longer anymore... I'm behind with Be still as well and I'm relieved that I am not the only ones. As you said, there is always next week...
Your food photography is beautiful. I love all the little piles of veggies!
I am always cooking up soups in the winter months...so warm and comforting. I've never thought to take photos of them...I must remedy that!
